An embedded system is a computerized system that is purpose-built for its application. We can consider its mission as narrower than a general-purpose computer: an embedded system has less support for things that are unrelated to accomplishing the job at hand. 

While "is this an embedded system or not" may be a common argument for discussion, embedded systems are considered the most numerous category of systems. Especially we seamlessly rely on cyber-physical embedded systems.

The course includes a relevant part dedicated to practical experience and hands-on, where foundational theory explained during the lectures is applied to program and operate real embedded systems.
