Assignment week 10
Assignment week 10
1. I have uploaded a link to the latest version of Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus which students can download for free! Furthermore, I have also uploaded a short video describing how you can use the software Screencast o Matic to videorecord your presentation.
2. I have also posted the rubric (evaluation sheet) I am going to be using for the oral exam; this will help you understand exactly how to prepare and what points to focus on - you can ask any questions regarding the rubric during our next lesson.
3. Keep working on your presentations:
a) do your research on the topic you have chosen!!! Remember to always take note of the resource links/websites/articles you read in order to then insert into your Reference slide. Those of you who haven't done so yet, pls upload the 1st slide of your presentation into the folder '1st slide x presentation" into our google folder and label/name it: SURNAME, TITLE! Remember, you can always decide to change it if you decide so while you are preparing your presentation.
b) think about how you are going to organise the different points of your topic into slides, how you are going to divide them up, how you are going to structure your speech and how you intend to conclude; the mind-mapping skills we practiced for the summaries are very useful to help you organise a coherent/logical/linear presentation!!!
At this point I suggest you do not spend too much of your time on details (your template and detailed content) but concentrate on the two above mentioned points. During the next lesson I will ask you to share your slides and tell us how you intend to organise your presentation. That way you can get useful feedback both from me and your peers and then work on more details for the last lessons during which you will be able to work on the visual layout of your slides and rehearse, rehearse, rehearse .....your speech.
4. The guide to signposting language (uploaded here) gives important information regarding oral presentation skills; we will be going through this guide together in our next lesson, so please download it or keep it open on your desktop.
