Learning Outcomes. To provide the tools for the characterization, also with new technologies, and the modelling, also through a distributed hydrologic model of hydrologic processes at watershed and hillslope scales, with in depth reference to soil moisture dynamics, the flood runoff formation for the purpose of assessing the impacts of climate and land use changes.
Contents. Remote sensing of hydrologic variables. Water and energy balance of soil-vegetation-atmosphere system. Hydrologic modeling. Hydrologic predictions.- Enseignant: CAPORALI ENRICA

“Earthquake geotechnical engineering” focuses on the characterization of earthquakes from a geotechnical engineering perspective and on the geotechnical analysis of the effects of earthquakes on soils at both the soil element and territorial scales. The course will provide Students with theoretical knowledge and practical experiences in laboratory and in-situ testing as well as software-based analyses of earthquake geotechnical engineering problems.

Engineering geomorphology is the study of the Earth’s morphological features and their processes of formation with special attention to their engineering properties and behavior aiming to provide solutions to complex problems and needs of engineers, development planners, environmentalists, and decision-makers. It combines knowledge and methodological approaches from geomorphology, engineering geology, and geotechnical engineering being considered as a branch of applied geomorphology.
