The course «ROBOTICA BIOMEDICA» aims to provide basic knowledge and methodology for the design and
implementation of robotic solutions for biomedical applications. The course is divided in three parts: firstly, it will present the main fundamental topics of robotics, including representations, orientation/position, kinematics in robot manipulators and navigation in mobile robots; secondly, it will touch the main biomedical applications, such as Surgical, Assistive robotic, Rehabilitation and Prosthetics robotics, and will present developmental topics related to cognitive and physical human robot interaction, social robotics, robotic behavioural modelling, teleoperation and design issues; thirdly, it will provide basic competencies to program a robot and create the behaviour of a robot in simulated environments, by means of the Robotic Operating System (ROS) platform and other related plugins and modules.
