l corso illustra i meccanismi neuronali e i relativi processi percettivi che sottendono l'analisi dei segnali in tutte le modalità sensoriali: vista, udito, somatosensazione, olfatto e gusto. Il corso prenderà in rassegna le proprietà funzionali dei sistemi sensoriali negli esseri umani con numerosi riferimenti - in termini di similitudini o differenze – al funzionamento dei medesimi meccanismi sensoriali in diverse classi di animali.

2. Important information
Common mandatory readings (for all students who attended classes in live streaming in the second semester of the academic year 2019-2020) are the same as indicated since the beginning of the course, in March 2020. Almost all of them are still freely available online - except those contained in a book accessible thanks to the "COVID-19 special offer" made by some publishers, during the strict lockdwon period (March/June 2020), when free access to libraries was forbidden and bookshops were closed, in Italy.Here it is the complete list of mandatory readings:
